About the Akuvox S535
An aluminium face recognition door phone with a 5-inch touchscreen, rated IP66 and IK08 for outdoor gates, opening by face, card, PIN, Bluetooth or QR code, with room to add a fingerprint, LTE or induction loop unit later.
The Akuvox S535 brings face recognition to the outdoor gate. Where the E16C and E18C are plastic units for lobbies, the S535 has an aluminium front rated IP66 against water jets and IK08 against impact, so it can stand at a compound gate or the street door of a building.
Two 2MP cameras recognise a face in about 200 ms and check that it is a live person; Akuvox states 99.7% accuracy and 20,000 face templates. Residents can also use a PIN (up to 100,000), a card (100,000: 125 kHz EM, Mifare, DESFire EV2/EV3 and FeliCa), an NFC phone, Bluetooth 5.0 with the Akuvox app, or a QR code sent to a visitor. The 5-inch 720 × 1280 touchscreen carries the resident directory, with up to 20,000 contacts, so it scales to large compounds.
The S535 is modular: an expansion unit attaches under the panel to add a fingerprint reader, an LTE connection or an induction loop for hearing aids, so a site can start with the base unit and add one later. Akuvox's on-wall installation kit covers the panel with its expansion unit.
It has one relay, two inputs, RS485 and Wiegand, and a 12V / 500 mA output that can feed a small lock or reader. Power is 802.3at PoE+ or 12V DC 3A. The base panel is 210 × 100 × 27 mm, mounts flush or on the wall, and is rated -40 °C to +55 °C; in Kuwait, a canopy or shaded wall helps on summer afternoons.

Can the Akuvox S535 be mounted outdoors?
Yes. Its aluminium front is rated IP66 and IK08. Its working range is -40 °C to +55 °C, so in Kuwait a canopy or shaded wall is advisable.
Can a fingerprint reader be added to the S535 later?
Yes. Akuvox makes a fingerprint expansion unit that mounts under the panel; LTE and induction loop units are also available. The S535 with the fingerprint unit is listed separately.
