About the TP-Link TL-SM5110-SR
The TL-SM5110-SR is the 10G module for short fibre runs inside a building: between racks in a server room, between floors, or from a core switch to a NAS or server. It uses multi-mode fibre at 850 nm and reaches up to 300 m on OM3 cable, with a duplex LC connector.
It follows the SFP+ multi-source agreement, so it fits standard 10G SFP+ slots, and TP-Link lists it for its JetStream and Omada switches such as the TL-SG3428X and TL-SG3428XMP. Digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) reports temperature, voltage and optical power to the switch, which helps spot a dirty connector or a failing link before users notice.
The module is hot-pluggable, runs from the slot's 3.3 V supply, measures 61.3 x 14.5 x 12.2 mm and is rated for 0 to 70 °C. Both ends of the link need SR modules; for runs between buildings over single-mode fibre, use the TL-SM5110-LR instead.
