About the TP-Link TL-SG1005P

The TL-SG1005P is a palm-sized PoE+ switch for a small camera system, a couple of access points or a few IP phones. Four of its five gigabit ports deliver PoE+, up to 30 W each within a 65 W total, and the fifth is the uplink to the router. Typical uses: three or four cameras on a villa, two Wi-Fi 6 access points, or a door station plus phones.

Two features solve common installation problems. Extend Mode on ports 1 and 2 pushes power and data up to 250 m at 10 Mbps, beyond the normal 100 m limit, so a gate camera or a far access point can be reached without an extra switch. PoE Auto Recovery watches each powered device and power-cycles it automatically if it stops responding, which saves a site visit for a frozen camera.

It needs no configuration, supports 802.1p/DSCP QoS and IGMP snooping, and is fanless in a 100 x 98 x 25 mm metal case for desk or wall. It runs from a 53.5 V adapter and is rated from -5 to 40 °C.
