About the TP-Link TL-POE160S

The TL-POE160S is the PoE+ injector for devices that need more power than basic PoE: Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points, pan-tilt-zoom cameras, video IP phones and door stations. It supports IEEE 802.3at and 802.3af, detects what the connected device needs and supplies up to 30 W, while a non-PoE device on the same port receives data only.

Both RJ45 ports are gigabit, so a fast access point is not limited. Unlike injectors that use a separate adapter, the power supply is built in: a standard AC cord plugs straight into the unit, which accepts 100 to 240 V. It can stand on a desk or be screwed to a wall near the switch.

Typical uses are adding a single PoE+ device to a network whose switch has no PoE, or powering one new access point without buying a PoE switch. It is plug and play, measures 125 x 59.4 x 36.8 mm and is rated for 0 to 40 °C.
