TP-Link TL-SG1210P 10-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch with 8-Port PoE+

The TL-SG1210P is a small PoE+ switch for a camera system or a set of access points that also needs a fibre uplink. Eight gigabit ports supply PoE+ (up to 30 W each, 63 W in total), and two more ports handle the uplink: one RJ45 and one gigabit SFP slot, so the switch can sit at a gate, a garage or an annex and connect back over fibre.

Three switches on the front change how it behaves without any software. Extend Mode stretches ports 1 to 4 to 250 m for far cameras, Priority Mode gives ports 1 and 2 first claim on bandwidth and power for critical devices, and Isolation Mode stops connected devices from seeing each other, a sensible default for cameras and guest Wi-Fi. PoE Auto Recovery restarts a powered device automatically if it stops responding.

Switching is 20 Gbps with a 4,000-entry MAC table and 16 KB jumbo frames, with 802.1p/DSCP QoS and IGMP snooping. The fanless 209 x 126 x 26 mm case runs from a 53.5 V adapter and is rated for 0 to 40 °C. Budget the 63 W carefully: it covers about five typical cameras at full draw or eight low-power phones.
