About the TP-Link TL-SX3016F

The SX3016F is the aggregation switch for an Omada network that has outgrown a single core. Its sixteen 10G SFP+ slots collect the fibre uplinks from access switches on several floors or buildings, or connect servers and storage at 10G, with a non-blocking 320 Gbps fabric and a 24 Mbit buffer for bursty traffic.

Layer 2+ features let it act as a small core: 48 static routes across 128 IP interfaces, DHCP server and relay, 4K VLANs with private VLAN, QinQ and voice VLAN, and IGMP snooping with 4,000 groups for multicast video. ERPS provides fast ring recovery, and OAM and DDM monitor fibre links and transceiver health.

Reliability is helped by an internal 1+1 redundant power supply, so a single PSU failure does not stop the switch. It is managed through the Omada controller in the cloud, on hardware or in software, or standalone by web, CLI and SNMP via RJ45 or Micro-USB console. The 1U chassis has one fan, draws about 33 W and is rated from -5 to 45 °C.
