About the TP-Link TL-SX1008

The TL-SX1008 is the eight-port 10G switch for a small server room, a post-production studio or the core of a fast office network. Every port is RJ45 multi-gig, from 100 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, so servers and NAS units at 10G, workstations at 5G or 10G, and Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 access points at 2.5G all connect at their best speed on one switch.

The fabric switches 160 Gbps, enough for all eight ports at 10G in both directions, at 119 million packets a second, with a 32K MAC table and 10 KB jumbo frames for large storage transfers. It is unmanaged, with 802.1p/DSCP QoS and flow control.

Unlike the five-port TL-SX105, it has an internal power supply and a single fan whose speed follows the temperature, and it is rated for a wider 0 to 50 °C. The 294 x 180 x 44 mm metal case stands on a desk or mounts in a 19-inch rack, and the switch draws at most 31.2 W. Plan Cat6A cabling for full-length 10G runs.
