About the Linksys LGS328MPC

"MPC" in the name stands for Max Power: the LGS328MPC has 410 W of PoE+ for 24 ports, about 17 W for every port at once and up to 30 W on any of them. That covers a floor of Wi-Fi 6 access points, PTZ cameras, video phones and door stations, the devices that exhaust a smaller budget first.

Four 10G SFP+ uplinks match the load: a floor full of access points and cameras can push well past a gigabit to the core switch or the NVR, and 10G removes that bottleneck. Switching capacity is 128 Gbps at 95.4 million packets a second, with 512 MB of memory and a 16K MAC table.

It runs Linksys's full LGS3 management set: 256 VLANs with auto voice VLAN, IPv4/IPv6 static routing, 802.1X, ACLs, DHCP snooping and IP-MAC binding, LACP, STP/RSTP/MSTP, IGMP and MLD snooping for camera multicast, port mirroring, SNMP and RMON, through a web interface, Telnet or SSH. The 1U chassis has two fans, weighs 3.8 kg, and is rated for 0 to 50 °C; with every port loaded it draws up to about 500 W.
