Tower server
- •Stands on the floor like a large PC
- •Quiet enough for an office or cupboard
- •Good for one main system and a few users
It still needs its own power protection and a spot that stays cool.
UltraTech Kuwait supplies and configures servers and network storage (NAS) for businesses in Kuwait. The box is the easy part: our engineers choose the RAID level, set up the virtual machines, shares and permissions, build the backups and test a restore, and connect it to a UPS that shuts it down safely. Hardware comes through official distributors with a Kuwait warranty.
Five setups cover almost every office we work with. Each one is supplied, configured and handed over working.
Shared folders and backups for the whole office
A local database that has to be fast and safe
Logins, files, applications and more on one machine
A proper home for servers and network equipment
For offices that already have servers but no real backup
Most servers we're called to after a disaster had RAID and no working backup. RAID protects against one drive failing. It does nothing against a deleted folder, ransomware or a fire, because it copies the damage to every drive instantly.
That's the 3-2-1 rule. Every server or NAS we supply comes with a backup plan built around it, and we run a test restore before handover.
Selling a server is easy. What decides whether it runs for five years without drama is how it's set up. This is the work we do on every one.
| Level | Drives | Survives | We use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| RAID 1 | Drives: 2 | Survives: 1 drive failing | Small servers and NAS with two drives |
| RAID 5 | Drives: 3 or more | Survives: 1 drive failing | Rarely now: rebuilding large drives takes long and is risky |
| RAID 6 | Drives: 4 or more | Survives: 2 drives failing | File servers and NAS with large drives |
| RAID 10 | Drives: 4 or more | Survives: 1 drive in each pair | Databases, accounting and virtual machines that need speed |
Before handover we pull a drive to watch the RAID rebuild, and restore real files from the backup. Most setups are never tested until the day they're needed.
Storage, memory and drive bays planned for the next few years of data, so the server isn't full in eighteen months.
Windows Server is licensed per processor core, plus access licences for users or devices. They're in the quotation, not a surprise after installation.
Data, shares and permissions migrate from the old server in the evening or at the weekend, and staff find everything in place the next morning.
We also build the network, cabling and racks it sits on, so there's nobody else to blame when something needs fixing.
Settings, passwords, RAID layout and the recovery steps are handed over in writing, so the server isn't tied to one person's memory.
Building air conditioning switched off on Friday is a common way servers overheat. We set temperature alerts by email so someone knows before anything shuts down.
Buildings that switch to a generator drop power for a few seconds. A correctly sized UPS covers the gap; without one, every changeover is a hard shutdown.
Warehouses and sites near construction fill fans with dust fast. A closed cabinet with filters, and a cleaning visit now and then, adds years to the hardware.
It depends on the systems you run and your internet line. Many offices end up with both: Microsoft 365 for email and documents, and a small local server or NAS for the accounting system and backups.
Yes. We review it, check the drives and backups, and tell you honestly whether to keep, upgrade or replace it.
Yes. Files, shares and permissions are moved, usually after hours, and checked with your staff the next morning.
Server and storage ranges from the major brands sold through official distributors in Kuwait, and business NAS brands. We pick the one that suits the job and your existing equipment.
It depends on the warranty option chosen when buying. For servers that must not stop, we recommend the faster on-site option and quote it alongside the standard one.
Yes. We can monitor it, apply updates and check backups every month under a maintenance contract.
A few lines about what it has to run and how many people use it are enough to start. You'll get a recommendation and a written quotation.
