Cable trays & containment
UltraTech Kuwait installs cable trays, basket trays, trunking and conduit for network and low-current cabling in Kuwait. Containment keeps data cables protected, separated from power and easy to add to later.

How much do cable trays and containment cost in Kuwait?
Typical Kuwait prices in 2026, equipment and installation included. Your exact price is fixed in writing after the site visit (20 KWD, deducted from your invoice when you go ahead).
| Wire basket tray, installed, per metre | 4 – 10 KWD |
| Ladder or perforated tray, installed, per metre | 8 – 20 KWD |
| PVC trunking, installed, per metre | 2 – 6 KWD |
| Conduit (PVC or GI), installed, per metre | 2 – 8 KWD |
| Office floor, typical containment | 400 – 1,500 KWD |
What moves the price
- Tray type and width
- Ceiling height and access
- Fire-stopping through walls
- Outdoor or indoor
Which containment fits where?
Fill trays to about 40–50% so cables stay cool and can be added later.
| Location | Containment | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Office ceiling | Wire basket tray or J-hooks | Light, open, easy to add to |
| Riser and server room | Ladder tray | Strong, carries heavy bundles |
| Exposed walls (no ceiling) | PVC or metal trunking | Neat and protected |
| Outdoors, between buildings | GI conduit or duct | UV and impact protection |
Containment inspection checklist
What we check before cables go in, and what consultants check at inspection.
Install
- Supports at regular spacing, no sagging
- Bends wide enough for the cable type
- Metal trays bonded to earth
Separation
- Data apart from power
- Fill no more than 40–50%
- Room left for future cables
Safety
- Fire-stopping at every wall and floor penetration
- No sharp edges at cut ends
- Outdoor runs UV-protected
Which containment for which route?
Each type has a job; mixing them up is a common inspection failure.
| Type | Strength | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| J-hooks | Light | Small cable bundles above ceiling tiles |
| Wire basket tray | Light to medium | Office ceilings; easy to add cables |
| Perforated tray | Medium | Mixed routes, plant rooms |
| Ladder tray | Heavy | Risers and server rooms with big bundles |
| Trunking | Light | Exposed walls without a ceiling |
| Conduit (PVC / GI) | Protected | Concealed or outdoor runs |
What people ask before they hire
How much does cable tray installation cost in Kuwait?
About 4–10 KWD per metre for wire basket tray and 8–20 KWD per metre for ladder or perforated tray, installed. A typical office floor needs 400–1,500 KWD of containment.
Do we need trays, or can cables lie on the ceiling?
Cables lying on ceiling tiles get damaged and are hard to trace; they also fail most consultant inspections. Trays or J-hooks are the minimum.
Can data and power share a tray?
No. They need separate containment, or a divider and distance, to avoid interference and for safety.
Do you fire-stop where cables pass through walls?
Yes. Openings through fire-rated walls are sealed after the cables are in.
How much is a site visit?

Containment mistakes we see on Kuwait sites
Fixing containment later means opening ceilings again.
01Trays filled to 100%
Our fix: Cables overheat and nothing can be added. We size for 40–50% fill.
02Data in the electrician's power tray
Our fix: Interference and failed inspections. Separate data containment.
03Holes in fire walls left open
Our fix: Fails fire inspection. We fire-stop every penetration.
04Indoor trunking used outdoors
Our fix: UV cracks it within a summer. Outdoor runs use GI conduit or duct.
