Signs your rack needs a clean-up

Any two of these, and a clean-up pays back in the first fault it saves.

What you see

  • Cords hanging across switches and doors
  • Loops of long patch cords
  • Cables nobody can name

What happens

  • Unplugging one thing breaks another
  • Simple moves take hours
  • Faults that come and go

What is missing

  • Labels on outlets and panel ports
  • A port map
  • Cable managers and blanking panels

How does a rack clean-up run without downtime?

Done after hours, port by port, so the office opens to a working network.

  1. 1

    Trace

    Before the night

Every port traced and recorded; new layout agreed.

  2. 2

    Prepare

    Before the night

Managers, cords and labels prepared to length.

  3. 3

    Re-patch

    Evening or weekend

Port by port, each connection checked as it moves.

  4. 4

    Remove dead cable

    Same night

    Unused cords and cables removed.

  5. 5

    Check and document

    Before staff return

Services tested; port map and labels handed over.

What people ask before they hire

How much does a rack clean-up cost in Kuwait?

About 120–300 KWD for a small rack of up to 48 ports, and 300–800 KWD for a larger rack, including new patch cords, cable managers, labels and a port map.

Will the network go down during the work?

Only briefly, port by port. We work after hours and bring each connection back before moving on.

Do we have to replace all the cabling?

Usually not. We test first and only replace runs that fail or limit speed.

Can you remove old cables nobody uses?

Yes. Dead cable in ceilings is traced and removed, which also frees space in trays.

How much is a site visit?

20 KWD, deducted from your invoice when you go ahead.

Why racks become a mess, and how we stop it happening again

The causes are almost always the same.

  1. 01Patch cords far too long

Our fix: Loops fill the rack. We fit cords cut to length.

  2. 02No cable managers

Our fix: Cords hang across equipment. We add horizontal and vertical managers.

  3. 03No port map

Our fix: Nobody dares to unplug anything. We trace every port and document it.

  4. 04Dead cables left in place

Our fix: Ceilings and trays fill up. We remove what is not used.
