Before choosing a rack location in Kuwait

Heat is the first thing that kills network equipment here.

Heat

  • Room temperature in August, not in winter
  • Air in and air out: vents, fans or AC
  • Away from windows and roof heat

Power

  • A dedicated circuit for the rack
  • UPS for anything that must stay on
  • Earthing point nearby

Access

  • Space to open the doors front and back
  • Lockable room or cabinet
  • Route for cables in and out

Which rack size and depth?

One U (rack unit) is 44.5 mm of height. Size for today plus about 30% spare.

What people ask before they hire

How much does a network rack cost in Kuwait?

A wall cabinet of 6–15U costs about 60–180 KWD supplied and mounted. A 42U floor rack with PDU and cable managers costs about 300–700 KWD installed.

Wall cabinet or floor rack?

A wall cabinet suits small offices with a firewall, one or two switches and an NVR. Servers, UPS units and more than three switches need a floor rack.

Does the rack need cooling?

In Kuwait, almost always. A closed cabinet in a cupboard easily passes 45 °C in summer; we add fans or ventilation, or plan the room's cooling.

Can you move our equipment into the new rack?

Yes, after hours, with labels and a port map so everything comes back as it was.

How much is a site visit?

20 KWD, deducted from your invoice when you go ahead.

Rack problems we fix most often in Kuwait

Most rack failures are heat and weight, not the network.

  1. 01Closed cabinet in a cupboard with no air

Our fix: Switches overheat and fail early. We plan ventilation or a cooled room.

  2. 02Rack too shallow for servers

Our fix: Doors won't close and cables are crushed. We size depth for the deepest device.

  3. 03No earthing

Our fix: Shielded cabling and surge protection don't work. Every rack is earthed.

  4. 04Everything on one power strip

Our fix: One fault takes everything down. We fit a proper PDU, with UPS where needed.
